The XVII business edition of this event was held in Viña Santa Rita in Alto Jahuel, and had the presence of high-ranked government authorities and district representatives of the private sector. The best public-private initiatives of 2013 were awarded at this event.
The ceremony had 12 categories including Best Venture, Best Business Operation, Best International Expansion; Best Public Sector Initiative, Sustainability Award; Best Regional Development, Sustainability Award, Best Image and Publicity, Best Financial Operation, Innovation Award, Best Entrepreneurship Sponsor, and Best Public-Private Initiative, where SERC Chile obtained the first prize.
The creation of SERC Chile was highlighted due to its contribution to the study of the factors that limit solar energy development in our country, emphasizing the potential of Atacama Desert and the collaboration of the universities of Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Chile, Adolfo Ibáñez, de Concepción, Técnica Federico Santa María and Fundación Chile.
They also highlighted the work of its six lines of research, especially solar energy in our industry; treatment of water for desalinization, disinfection and decontamination through solar energy use, and the power coordination systems in rural and urban communities; among others.
